Slim Condensate Pan Treatment Tablet for up to 5 Tons

The quaternary-based biocide, formulated in tablet form and enclosed in a plastic housing, is sealed ultrasonically to an absorbent white filter pad. The immediate, but controlled, release of the powerful biocide is achieved by the absorption of water by the pad and its "wicking" to the tablet. Pan Pads can be used in any condensate pan arrangements, either horizontally or vertically, with their low profile fitting most pan configurations and lasting three months or more. Formulated buffering agents help protect the pan against corrosion. When used as part of the Clean Coil Program, the equipment is assured of optimum performance at the lowest possible energy cost.

Air conditioning and refrigeration evaporator or cooling coils cool the air that is brought across them, during which process, moisture can be removed from the air, resulting in condensate. This condensate is collected in the condensate pan and drained away. Without proper treatment, bacteria can begin to grow in the pan, clogging the drain hole and resulting in overflow. In addition, this bacteria can also cause musty odors as well as respiratory ailments, contributing to an indoor air quality (IAQ) problem. The use of Pan Pads kills this bacteria, preventing these problems.

Pan Pads are formulated to eliminate the build-up of bacteria and slime growth in air conditioning and refrigeration condensate drain pans. In laboratory tests, they have been proven effective against a wide spectrum of harmful bacteria, including Legionella. The product is EPA registered for this application and NSF registered, treating up to 5 tons.
